太魯閣號，一個另人期待的台鐵新自強號列車，而我這次的母親假期就是搭太魯閣號回花蓮(註一)，我對這趟的旅程相當的滿意，也對太魯閣號印象深刻，因此決定寫一篇關於它的文章來與其他台鐵列車做比較，本文主要是介紹它的內裝、外觀及傾斜機構等，讓還有沒有機會搭乘的朋友參考囉。
一般的台鐵火車的椅套都是廣告商所提供的，而太魯閣號是台鐵自己的椅套，還特別印上太魯閣的字眼喔。
一般的飲料架都是用不鏽鋼製成的，以兩個為一個單位，而太魯閣號的飲料架已經換成獨立可收放的塑膠飲料架。
閱讀燈一般只有飛機或國道客運的車上才會有，這也是台鐵第一次在太魯閣號上使用閱讀燈。
桌子？坐火車會有桌子可以用？我想大部分的人想法都會跟我一樣吧！沒有錯太魯閣號的個每座位上都有一個小桌子喔，可以方便旅客用餐或做文書工作，太魯閣號跟飛機還有高鐵太像了，這樣的設計另人滿意，而這桌子是藏在座椅兩側上。
把桌子從扶手上拉出來就長這樣。
以前的行李掛鉤也是不鏽鋼的，而太魯閣號已經換成隱藏式的行李掛鉤。
整個車廂照明還有設計相當簡約明亮。
只有早期比較舊的車廂才是用上下拉的窗簾，常見的火車都是使用左右拉的布簾，這次太魯閣號是是走復古風。
注意，這是洗手台不是小便斗喔，連廁所的設計都相當新穎。

整體車廂設計簡單，而自動門不像一般火車會貼上條紋貼紙讓廁所這邊的旅客看不太到車廂內部，而太魯閣號的自動門玻璃是全透明的，可以讓人看到整個車廂內狀況。
男生廁所及公用電話區。
記者說太魯閣號的椅子間距離加大了讓腳可以伸展，而我目視的結果應該是太魯閣號把腳踏板拿掉了，讓大家覺得椅子間距加大(這點我找不到相關的座位尺寸，如有錯請提醒我一下)
太魯閣號的座椅是皮製的喔，一般火車為絨布製的居多。
太魯閣號的車頭是可以打開的喔，這樣就可以與其他的車種做連接了，圖中技工正打開太魯閣號車頭準備與柴油莒光號車頭做連接，用柴油車他將太魯閣號推回保養廠。

如同它的內裝，太魯閣號的外觀還是走簡約風，我個人非常喜歡它的樣子還有顏色。

後記：
太魯閣號為台鐵注入了新的活力，聽說年底還會有新的柴油傾斜式列車加入東部的營運，也會有新的電聯車加入，這讓我非常的高興，希望百年的台鐵可以老店新開囉，真期待新車的上路。

它並不屬於自強號列車 當初網路票選命名用意就是為了打破以往以政治意涵來命名列出名字 而在網路訂票系統上為了節省經費與方便 就以自強號字樣前面加上太魯閣號標誌做區別 在月台列車電子看版就明確標示太魯閣號 所以它並不屬於自強號的一份子 也要感謝花蓮兩名立委在立法院推動這個方案才有太魯閣號的誕生

我這次來回都坐太魯閣號XD 去程是2035次 回程是1094次 0.0
哇，真好，來回都有訂到太魯閣號 我好久沒有坐了，還是很懷念它的加速度 坐起來感覺超棒的！
我搭完太魯閣號的感想:當初我坐普通的自強號到瑞穗，抵達花蓮站就看到一班太魯閣號，當時非常 羨慕正在上車ㄉ旅客，還跟我媽說豐年祭以前ㄉ兩三ㄍ禮拜告訴我~(因為我要訂票哩XD)，結果真ㄉ 訂到ㄌ太魯閣號，非常ㄉ心動，但是唯一麻煩ㄉ是，要在花蓮站換車做到瑞穗站，而且太魯閣號很愛 搖搖晃晃，容易害我暈車，現在因為改點ㄌ ㄋ坐ㄉ太魯閣號已經晚一ㄍ小時發車，到花蓮12:54 我 轉40次莒光只要20幾分 不用等一ㄍ小時ㄌ
原來飄弟是瑞穗人喔^^ 我是住在隔壁–玉里 我現在不坐太魯閣的原因就如你所說的，只開到花蓮 QQ 而且我在新竹，從新竹回玉里如果要坐太魯閣號，就要先坐車到台北，換一次車 然後坐到花蓮又要再換一次車 所以我最常坐的就是你說的40次，它在新竹的時間是7點50分 繞了半個台灣後，３點到玉里 @@ 非常久的一段路，但卻不用換車 因為玉里有停直達的自強號 所以我如果坐那種台北開車只停花蓮就玉里的自強號超快的 只要3個半小時，台北到花蓮２個半小時 (現在停靠站很多的太魯閣跑起也要這時間 ＝ ＝) 花蓮到玉里只要1小時，非常的方便 我那天從玉里回北部，坐了一班玉里是早上８點40的車子 到台北只要12點20，而且它有停瑞穗喔 就玉里、瑞穗、花蓮、松山、台北，超快的，你下次可以坐看看 應該會比坐太魯閣方便 而且你應該知道早它一個小時有每站都停的自強號(在玉里是7點30左右的) 它們兩台到台北的時間幾乎一樣 快很多吧，而且停靠站少，每個站的配票就比較多，還蠻容易訂的 ^_^

2010年春，我也去了趟東京， 也坐了各種的火車，我超愛鐵道的旅行 以後有機會去日本也想坐看看新幹線 台鐵新的太魯閣號招標已經通過， 很期待新一批太魯閣號的到來^^
您好 太魯閣號蠻棒的 台鐵首輛純日系列車.只可惜我是南部人 要搭到她的機會很少.不過希望以後有機會去北部和她碰面 據說她接下來坐椅要換成像EMU700那樣材質的絨布椅 因為據說皮椅現在有破損.台鐵要幫她換新內裝囉
他現在也有跑二水到花蓮的路線， 所以你來北部也可以坐到，不一定要去東部坐， 不過在西幹線太魯閣號的優勢並不明顯， 速度並不會比PP快多少！ 沒錯，我今年好像有坐過新的椅子， 那舊的椅子真的很難看，破皮得很嚴重！
不過前天埔心事故，太魯閣號少了一組:(( 車頭全毀 聽說好像要報廢...(TED1010) 司機也因為這樣而去世 好可憐喔0.0
